Nîmito in nêhiyawêwin translates to 'they dance'. This performance and video includes 3 objects: a hybrid moccasin platform shoe, a bepsi/beer tab shawl, and a glow in the dark LED shawl inspired by the northern lights, and the stars.

Mullyanne Nîmito explores Nehiyaw identity.


Exploring ideas around Nehiyaw alien, protection, movement as healing, ancestral knowledge, traditional practice, Nehiyawewin, and Nehiyaw fashion.

Cheyenne Rain LeGrande ᑭᒥᐘᐣ , Nehiyaw Isko


Cheyenne Rain LeGrande ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ Cheyenne Rain LeGrande ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ is a Nehiyaw Isko artist, from Bigstone Cree Nation. They currently reside in Amiskwaciy Waskahikan also known as Edmonton, Alberta. Her work often explores history, knowledge and traditional practices. Through the use of their body and language, she speaks to the past, present and future. Cheyenne’s work is rooted in the strength to feel, express and heal. Bringing their ancestors with her, they move through installation, photography, fashion, video, sound, and performance art.

Standing, limited seating available. Room will be dark to capture raw projection works and story. A live 5 min dance performance to intertwine with projection.
