A black-and-white photograph of an intricate network of tangled tree roots or branches extending into the ground, creating a dense and chaotic texture.

Pronounced 'bah-key-yah-muh'.

Bakiamu, meaning 'gone' in Meriam mir, is a multimedia installation of stills, audio/visual projections and live song & dance performance captured from the edges of the remote community of Murray Island (Mer) in the Torres Strait.

Peta Duncan Peta is a self-taught and emerging lens-based artist whose work is both a self-exploration of her identity and a love-letter to her culture and community.

Standing only, limited seating available. Room will be dark to capture raw projection works and story. A live 3 min dance and song performance to intertwine with projection.
