A black-and-white photograph of an intricate network of tangled tree roots or branches extending into the ground, creating a dense and chaotic texture.

Bakiamu. Gone.

A drum beat carries over the waters. Our spirituality is the sea. The transitioning winds fight one another. But our foundations are strong, they keep us here. We come from the sea and we shall return to the sea.

This work is a video and sound projection installation captured from the edges of the remote community of Murray Island (Mer) in the Torres Strait.
