The QVWC’s vision is that all women and gender-diverse people have a place where they are welcomed, valued and celebrated and have the power to determine their present and future. QVWC's purpose is to hold and create space for Victorian women and gender-diverse people to thrive.

The front entrance has 18 steps with a supporting handrail.
Visitors with mobility aids accessing the centre from Lonsdale Street are advised to take the ramp on the western (left-hand side) of the building along Shilling Lane to the automated doors at the rear of QVWC.
Visitors accessing the centre from the QV Courtyard, such as from Artemis Lane, will find stairs connecting the QV Courtyard to the rear automated doors. Visitors with mobility aids are directed to use the platform lift, across from the QVWC shop, to access the rear automated doors.
Within QVWC, a passenger lift can be used to access all floors from the ground up. The lift has a doorway of 90cm, an internal depth of 209cm and a maximum load of 1125kg. Where there are small steps or accessibility issues, platform lifts are installed or portable ramps are provided.
Balam-Balam
Located on the ground floor near the Lonsdale St entrance. There are 2 doorways to access the room — sizes are 90cm and 80cm wide. The ground floor bathrooms are next to the lift — these bathrooms are all genders with a fully accessible bathroom and shower.
Wayi Djerring
Located on Level 4. The venue and balcony are fully accessible. The bathrooms are inside the venue and exclusively for venue guests. The bathroom doors do not meet current standard requirements and at their narrowest point measure 72cm. One of the 4 stalls is designed for ambulant access, with a larger footprint and grab rails, and may be accessible for some wheelchair users. The closest accessible bathroom is on the ground floor.
Millarri Murnmut
Located on Level 5. The door is 80cm wide. The terrace areas are accessible via a portable ramp. The closest accessible bathroom is on the ground floor.
The ground floor bathrooms are located next to the lift - these bathrooms are all gender with a fully accessible bathroom and shower.
At this stage, QVWC does not have a dedicated quiet space.
A small number of curbside City of Melbourne parks are located in front of QVWC on Lonsdale St. There are many curbside and central parks on Russel St across from Artemis Lane. Disabled parks are also located in these bays.
Long-term parking is underneath QVWC in the Wilson’s car park. Access is via Lonsdale, Russel or Little Lonsdale St. The cost is $20 all day with >$1 purchase from a selection of QV stores, or a $15 weekend flat rate.
The best pick up/drop off point is at the corner of Russell Street and Artemis Lane
