Gifted by our Elders, YIRRAMBOI means tomorrow in the local languages of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung peoples. We acknowledge them as the Custodians of the lands in which we thrive, we pay our deepest respects to their ancestors and elders who have held their Songlines through these lands for over 80,000 years. As visitors, we abide by Bunjil's lore and take responsibility in caring for country, waterways and bubups, our children, our future.

Chunky Move creates bold, visually striking and genre defying dance works. These works are experiments that merge the body with other forms, explore new ideas and materials and respond to different spaces and contexts. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Antony Hamilton and Executive Director Kristy Ayre, Chunky Move plays a crucial role in driving the art-form of dance forward in Australia and beyond. Artists and audiences are at the heart of our company, expressed in our dense program of major works, commissions, residencies, workshops and public classes. Our collaborations, partnerships and projects aim to extend art-form influence in the public realm and increase the visibility of contemporary dance as an everyday art-form. Ngioka Bunda-Heath is Wakka Wakka, Ngugi from Queensland; and Birrpai from New South Wales. She graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, as the first Aboriginal woman in dance. Ngioka received both the Hutchinson Indigenous Fellowship and Residency and the Chloe Munro AO/Lucy Guerin Inc Independent Artist fellowship. She worked for Bangarra Dance Theatre in “Rekindling” their youth education program; and is the First Peoples Partnership Coordinator at Chunky Move. Ngioka has performed works by Mariaa Randall, Sarah Aiken and Rebecca Jensen, Amrita Hepi and will dance for LGI in 2023. Internationally, she’s participated in dance conferences, festivals, and residencies in New Caledonia, France, Canada, and America. Ngioka’s choreographic work includes Blood Quantum (2019), Birrpai (2021) awarded Dance Best Duo/Ensemble at the Greenroom Awards, Bridge (2022) and Footprints (2022).
